    9/2/22 Parts ordering

    Additional Information

Sept 8. 1 month into restoration updates: Plenty of body repair to complete before taking off body from frame. Got a new parts order in and found Labor day a great weekend for discounted parts. In addition, ordering from Paragon Corvette provides no sales tax to Texas as well as 10-15% discounts. Patience and lots of searching on the internet to find who will offer great deals is the name of the game. Complete Wiring harness, All new weatherstripping, body seal/mount kits and all new electric headlight conversion set on the way ( no more vacuum lines).

Also was able to secure a free case of paint stripper from a local manufacturer to finish the final layer of primer on the car. Replaced the front "rusty" cross member and got a 20% discount along with free shipping from Ecklers. Again, it pays to shop around and wait for deals, when you can.

Week of 9/8/22 More stripping and fiberglass repairs. Stephanie did this paint strip

So I always remember, jog the bolt, don't break it. I broke this one. Hugh had to drill it out.

OK, now we are down to about 33%left to strip down to fiberglass

      Week Ending 9/18

      Minor updates

Misc items come up each week. 4 gallons of vinegar to remove rust from bolts and parts. 180 and 320 grit sanding paper rolls. chalk marker to mark small indention's on fiberglass surface for filler repair, brake cleaner, spray bottles. couple more weeks of final paint/primer removal and body repair.

May have to replace rear driver quarter panel. TO be determined later. Still have a nagging caliper bolt that won;t come off along with side mirror screw along withe a couple of trim screws.

Second headlight cover stripped easily, onto the headlight assembly next.

Took a break Saturday morning to take a trip out to HemiHideout in Brookshire to look at the car and neon light collection. Around 110 members from our Corvette Club made the journey down winding back roads to the site. Was a great experience.
