    Week of 1/8/23

      1/17/2023 Updates

A few important items got done this weekend. Cut the Transmission crossmember and welded on the flanges so if we ever have to removed the transmission, we don't have to take the engine out.

Another item to fix was the body mounts. A couple of the existing ones were broken and required we cut out the bolts. These were replaced with new ones that also had to be welded.

The other welding was related to the birdcage. When we removed the windshield, there was a large hole that we discovered had disintegrated from water and had to be repaired.

Since we took off the tarp to weld the birdcage, Hugh decided it was time to work on the drivers side rear quarter panel. Bondo was caked on nearly 1/2 inch, so it was grinded down so it could be rebuilt with fiberglass to the correct /mirrored size as the passenger side.

The tool came in so we could complete the rear trailing arm bushing press installation. That was completed, so we can now complete the rear suspension assembly.
